Best Restaurants in Toronto and Unique Dining Experiences: Bubble Dining, Aesthetic Decor, Heated Patios and Fire Pits

2020 was a year of changing how we do things- and restaurant dining was no exception (wow does it ever feel good to edit those from has to was). Now that we’re back to dining indoors and not being forced to eat on patios in November, I’m turning this into a best Toronto restaurants and unique dining experiences list.

Best Restaurants (Food)

Italian

Stelvio (Dundas)

Beautiful decor, delicious Italian food and great service- need I say more? Plus they have a cute patio right on Dundas St. in the summer! Try the mushroom risotto, it’s one of the best in the city.

Viaggio (Dundas)

This charming little spot is a little removed from the hustle and bustle on Dundas, making it the perfect, quiet date night spot. They’re known for their snow crab pasta and it did not disappoint.

Mexican

Anejo (King St.)

Not only are their tacos and margs delicious, but their happy hour is one of the best in Toronto. Swing by for halfy hour and enjoy 1/2 off margaritas and $3 tacos.

Wine Bars

Arvo (Liberty Village)

Unlike any other spots in the area, Arvo is quiet and unassuming cafe/wine bar hybrid, with some of the best food in the neighbourhood. The decor is beautiful, and the staff are always a pleasure to chat with. The most impressive part of this restaurant is that they don’t have a full kitchen- most of the food is prepared behind the bar, but you’d never know it.

Best Toronto Restaurants (Experience)

Yamato (Yorkville)

One of the best dining experiences (and meals) you’ll have in the city! Don’t be fooled by the small sushi bar you walk into- in the back is an elevated teppanyaki experience, with unmatched service and quality. Opt for the fried rice if you go for the teppanyaki experience.

Best Toronto Restaurants (Aesthetically)

Italian

Oretta (King St.)

I was torn between putting this in the best food or best decor list because Oretta could easily fall into either category. Impeccably decorated, this Instagrammable spot doesn’t fall short with the food either.

El Catrin (Distillery District)

Sushi

Chotto Matte (Financial District) *sit inside or outside

Toronto Restaurants and Patios with Bubble and Dome Dining

Against The Grain – Corus Quay

The perfect bubble dining spot for a brunch or lunch! The food was good, the bubble was cute and kept us warm and the view was great.

The Yorkville Royal Sonesta

If you’re looking for a more elevated bubble dining experience, then this is the spot for you! There are only 4 domes available to choose from, so make sure to reserve in advance.

Black Sheep – Liberty Village

Right above Brazen Head (with a slightly elevated food and cocktail menu), Black Sheep recently added bubble dining- just in time for the newest lockdown!

Toronto Restaurants with Fire Pits

Brazen Head – Liberty Village

There are only two, so make sure you reserve and specify that you’re looking for a fire pit!
